Dr. Brian Puent
Growing up, I struggled with poor vision, and it reached a turning point in eighth grade during Geography class. It turned out that even moving to the front row couldn't help me see the board clearly!! The embarrassment of squinting at blurry words had become a significant problem and was interfering with school. Thankfully, my parents made an appointment with Dr. Kirby Redman, my first optometrist. He introduced me to glasses and everything changed. Suddenly, I could see the leaves on trees and identify faces across the room.
Now fast forward to my undergraduate years at UW-Madison. After I ran into a bit of trouble after a couple semesters pursuing information technology, I reached out to Dr. Redman for guidance. He was nothing but supportive and that phone call changed everything. I still remember where I stood when we talked. After a change in courses and graduation from UW-Madison, I was on my way to the OSU College of Optometry.
Once an optometrist, I spent about the first twelve years of my career working in various eye clinics. While these were valuable experiences, I felt the call to private practice. Private practice seemed to be where personal service reigns and clients aren't just numbers. I witnessed how people often perceived glasses negatively, and I wanted to change that narrative—helping them embrace their eyewear instead. This drive led me to launch Rib Mountain Eye Care in April 2016.
